How to manage Applications and Websites

Netspark Mobile allows you to fine-tune your filter settings using Custom Filtering Rules. This feature lets you:

  • Block applications and websites you find inappropriate for your current protection level.
  • Allow applications and websites restricted by your current protection level.
  • Set temporary rules for specific durations.

Follow the steps below to manage your custom filtering rules for apps and websites.


Steps to Add a Custom Filtering Rule

1. Access Netspark:
  • Open the Netspark Mobile app on your device, or visit the Netspark Management Site.
  • Log in using your admin email address and password.
2. Select the Device:
  • Choose the device you'd like to set a rule for from the list.

Add a Rule for an Application

  1. Locate the Application:

    • On the Netspark app's home screen, you’ll see a list of installed applications, on the management site select the Device Applications tab
    • Use the Sort button to sort by name, usage, or installation date.
    • Search for a specific app by entering its name in the search bar under Content Management.
  2. Set the Filter Level:

    • Select the app from the list and choose the desired Filter Level.
  3. Set a Temporary Rule (Optional):

    • Choose Temporary in the Filter Level options.
    • Specify the Filter Level and the duration for the rule.

Add a Rule for a Website

  1. Press the Add New Button:

    • At the bottom of the screen on Netspark mobile's app, tap Add New and then select the Website tab.
    • On the Management site select Custom Filtering Rules tab
  2. Enter the Website Address:

    • Input the URL of the website you want to manage.
    • Enter only the domain name, excluding prefixes like www., https://, or http://.
      • Example: Use domain.com instead of www.domain.com or https://domain.com.
  3. Set the Filter Level:

    • Choose the desired Filter Level and press Add to List.
  4. Set a Temporary Rule (Optional):

    • Locate the website in your custom rules list.
    • Press the Filter Level button next to it and choose Temporary.
    • Specify the Filter Level and duration.

Managing Rules:

  • You can view, edit, or delete existing rules by navigating to the Custom Filtering Rules list under Content Management.
  • Temporary rules will automatically expire after the set time, restoring the default filtering level.
